1. Who we are

Charter Pulse (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides charter market intelligence and due diligence services at charterpulse.io. We are not affiliated with any charter management company or booking platform.

2. Data we collect

When you use Charter Pulse services, we may collect:

  • Contact information — name and email address when you submit a contact or report request form.
  • Usage data — pages visited, time on site, referrer, browser type, and device type via Google Analytics (GA4) or Google Tag Manager.
  • Report request data — vessel URLs, listing identifiers, and any information you provide to scope a validation report.
  • Account data — for dashboard users: email address and hashed password stored in PostgreSQL.

3. How we use your data

  • To respond to contact and report requests
  • To deliver purchased validation reports
  • To improve site functionality and content using aggregated analytics
  • To send transactional communications related to your report or account

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and analytics

Charter Pulse uses Google Analytics (GA4) and/or Google Tag Manager to collect anonymised usage data. These services may set cookies on your device. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Data storage and security

Account credentials are stored with bcrypt hashing. Sensitive API keys in the dashboard are AES-encrypted at rest. All data is transmitted over TLS. We use Railway-managed PostgreSQL hosted in the EU region.

6. Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months. Report request data is retained for 36 months for audit and dispute purposes. Analytics data is retained per Google's standard retention policy (14 months for GA4 user data).

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at:

privacy@charterpulse.io

8. Third-party data sources

Charter Pulse collects publicly available charter listing data from booking platforms and the Wayback Machine (Internet Archive). This data relates to commercial vessel availability and is not personal data. We do not collect or process personal data about charter guests or vessel owners beyond what is necessary for our validation methodology.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent revision was made. Continued use of Charter Pulse after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
